"Austrian Raids near Klosterneuburg (3-4 July 1809)" Topic

None of the major histories of the War of 1809 mention any fighting in Klosterneuburg immediately before the decisive battle of Wagram. Interesting article which was prompted by a chance discovery by one of the authors during archival research in the Augustinian Abbey of Klosterneuburg directly north of Vienna. Inside carton box K 219, amidst a rather eclectic collection of miscellaneous documents dating from the late Middle Ages to the early 19th century, an interesting source came to light.
