I am sad to announce that Art Fossa passed away this week due to heart failure.

Art was a main stay at many HMGS conventions over the last 20 years. He was shall I say, Mr. Book.

More to follow as it becomes available.

This is sad news. I was not aware of his passing. I have bought many books and a couple of games from Art over the years. My thoughts and condolences for Art's wife

Art Fossa.  He invited me to my first Historicon, the last to be held at a country club in Maryland.  I think Pat Condray was the  organizer.  Next year was the first con held just outside of Harrisburg.  Except for Fredericksburg, I think I have attended all the H-cons since.  What a difference this man made in my life!  We seldom look beyond the moment to contemplate the long term effects of our actions.

RIP Art and Thanks.

Art and I did a lot of HMGS shows over the years. A good man and funny.

Art was a long time friend. We often had booths at conventions near each other. Super guy to talk to. Sad to hear of another friends passing.

Good to hear from you. I was with him when we were next to you.

Ah this is terrible news.

Art was a great guy.

I remember back many years ago, Jim Parcella and Mike Vogel (both passed on, God rest them) put a fart noise maker under Art's chair at one of the cons and they would activate it every so often…

We laughed about that for years…the look on Art's face…

I bet the three of them are already busting each others chops in the next world.

Appreciate the news, Chris.

Eric that was a great story. When I knew Jim I hadn't met Art yet so that is a nice glimpse into his past.

Rudy & Chris,

Art and I had adjoining dealer tables at HMGS cons in Lancaster for many years. We called ourselves "the door police" because we had to interrupt many a conversation when people would duck out for a smoke.

We must have sampled every eatery in Lancaster over the years together. Those were great times!

Art was a great salesman. He really knew his books and if you had a question about any historical period, he was the first guy you wanted to ask.

He was also a very competitive board and miniatures gamer. We will miss him!

Cheers,
