I am looking for 28mm miniatures for the (french equipped) yunnan army. Any ideas? I don't have a problem with conversions. |

Wargames Atlantic French Infantry 1914-1940 might be a good set to start with. Were those units completely equipped with French arms? You might need to blend in weapons from the Wargames Atlantic German Infantry set to give them Mauser 98s and C-96s. |

Riever is under the Northumbriam Painting page. Check out both their Sino Japanese and their back of Beyond ranges and you'll find about eight or nine factions of armies including infantry, mgs, HQs, artillery and more for each faction. The southern armies in the sino japanese line definitely have Adrian helmets. |

Indeed, with the Russo-Japanese war a few scant years before, there is certainly a "Japanese" look about some of the warlords' armies. Bought a few books on the period and had a great b&w DVD I picked up in Taiwan but loaned it out, the guy passed and his widow couldn't find it. Always wondered why more wargamers didn't dip their toes into this very interesting period. Heck, opposing armies could even look alike and used for whichever faction was short of figs without looking unrealistic! Please keep us informed how you tackled this era. |

Copplestone has some Chinese warlord figs in the casque Adrian, which is I think the main way that the minis would look differently link |
