The characters are great, the writing is both captivating and funny, and it manages to portray war in a way the average civilian can understand. Of the characters on M*A*S*H, Cpl. Walter Eugene "Radar" O'Reilly was arguably a fan favorite, which begs the question: why did he exit in season eight?…"

I thought the spin-off comedy about Radar "back in the world" had potential, but it never got past the pilot episode.

Was a big early fan, remember seeing the original movie at a drive in as a young kid, but it did get preachy more and more every year. It always was about Vietnam.
A few years ago saw a rerun showing and could barely watch it.
