Some here might remember Optio battle reports from quite a while back. I've been taking my time tinkering with the system and it is coming along nicely. Rules for a campaign game have been developed and my playtester Peter and I are currently giving them whirl. This is a Hoplite Greek campaign. Two smallish Greek city states duke it out for supremacy. Enjoy! Click here. Re the photo below, the main Hoplite lines in the foreground with a stream between them. I used flats as I don't have Hoplite miniatures. When I'm rich and famous that will be rectified. You'll notice counters behind the figure stands: these indicate morale, order/disorder and shooting hits. They are magnetized and stick to a rectangular piece of steel sheeting (from a coffee tin) that the magnetized figure stands also sits on. The system works very well: all bookkeeping is on the battlefield and the player can see at a glance the state of his army.
