For this round, the subject to paint was the Jaguar Strike Craft from i-Kore's VOID line. Really Big Challenge for me this time - because it's a vehicle, full of flat areas, and I have never painted something like this before.

As usual, I will paint it with Vallejo Model Color colors, and sometimes with Citadel paints. I prefer that paint be heavily diluted, to produce a smooth surface. For shading and highlighting, it should have a milky consistency.

Step 1 - Preparation

I prepared the model by removing mold lines with a cutter and a file. The craft was composed of several parts. All parts were pinned with a 1mm pin.

I decided not to use the resin base from the kit. Therefore, I drilled a hole underneath the craft, so that it could be pinned to a transparant plastic stand (from Games Workshop).

Unpainted model on new stand

After that, I sanded the model with 600-grit sandpaper. I finished by polishing it with a drilling machine and a brass brush. Then I washed it with a toothbrush, warm water and soap. After it was dry, I basecoated it using Citadel White spraypaint.

Step 2 - The Craft

For the hull base color, I used a mix of Red Leather (818) and Bronze Green (897).

Basecoated vehicle

I highlighted by adding more Red Leather to the base, finishing with Deep Orange (851).

Vehicle after highlighting

The metallic areas were painted with a base of black, followed by a layer of Boltgun Metal (Citadel) and highlighted with Mithril Silver (Citadel).

The base color of the chair is Snakebite Leather (Citadel), highlighted with Bleached Bone (Citadel).

For the blade beneath the craft, I used NMM. So I started from black, followed by a layer of neutral grey (992), and highlighted with white, finishing with pure white on the sharp areas.

For the "things" near the chair's armrest, I basecoated with Green Ochre (914). I shaded using a mix of Green Ochre (914) and Burnt Umber (941). Then I highlighted by adding Iraqi Sand to the base color. The cushions were basecoated with Flat Earth (983), and highlighted until pure Ochre Maroon.

To give more life to the craft, I drew some symbols on the hull.
