After completing the WWII Russian Character Set for our 28mm Barbarosa Project, Robert Brown (of Friar Barb Painting Service) was willing to sign on for another project, so we batted some ideas back and forth. We suggested that a project to paint a set of DBA-sized armies would be useful in promoting the hobby, he mentioned some experience with 6mm scale armies: Baccus does 6mm figures mounted on 25mm bases. Really looks good and gives the feel of depth, frontage and mass or troops. He has a few pictures on his website. ![]() So I checked with Baccus 6mm, and Peter Berry was more than willing to help out: The figures went off today. Two full armies - that's a lot of little men, plus a few generals and personalities per side. Robert even volunteered to paint the entire two-army set himself: I would be willing to do both armies. Do not worry about monopolizing my time. I enjoy the work and the research. And with only 12 elements per army, paints up quick and is fairly reasonable. ![]() The package has arrived here, I've taken the obligatory photos, and now the figures will be on their way to Friar Barbs... |
