Thanks to the flesh experiments from previous Workbenchs, I have arrived at a flesh tone combination I really like. I try and spend a good chunk of time here, as believable flesh really sells a figure.

First a base layer of Dark Flesh and Burnt Sienna (refer to ratio Flesh1 in the appendix) is put on. This will be the shadow layer (Photo 5A). The next layer is Dark Flesh, Medium Flesh, and AC Flesh (Flesh 2). You can see that I've started to define some of the physique, especially around the kneecaps. This layer is still very broad.

First flesh layers

The third layer uses the same colors as the second, but in a different ratio (Flesh3). Photo 6 shows further defining of physique. Note how the top of the calves are highlighted in 6B.

Defining of physique

The final layer drops the use of Dark Flesh (Flesh4). As these layers are thin, they do require a couple of coats. Each coat covers a slightly smaller area, to help with color transitions. In Photo 7, only the top edge of the forearms, the kneecaps, and a small portion of the calf tops are hit.
