Minidragon continues:
Next, you see the pelt nearly finished. Some traces of the brown still peak through, though the pelt is mainly painted in whites and greys. The head got some black on the nose, around the eyes, and some fine lines to make the wolf head look kinda snarly. I've also painted the wolf teeth at this point. I based them with old Games Workshop Snakebite Leather (we're talking 15-year-old paint here - I don't think it matches the color with the same name from the current range). I highlighted by adding in some white, and then finished with a spot of pure white.
The next shot shows the same thing from a different angle.
Next, we see the skin and eyes are done. I followed the same method for skin as on my Round 1 figure, except that I used a darker base color and didn't use as many highlight shades. The result is a deeper, more tanned, skin tone.
The final shot shows the assembled figure. You can see that the beard is finished at this point, completing the mini (except for the base). I started the beard with thinned Partha Paints Robe Red. Next, I added Partha Paints Kerensky Brown to the red and did a highlight layer with that. Last, I did another highlight layer, this time lightening my mix with Games Workshop Sunburst Yellow. If you look close, you'll see that by this point I've worn off some of the basing mix - this is why I normally don't glue on the mix until I'm done painting the figure itself.
I finished the base by washing with thinned Ceramcoat brown, highlighting with a light cream-colored Apple Barrel paint (the color's name escapes me), then gluing on green flock and finishing up by gluing on some Games Workshop static grass. Done!
