unknown member of Meg's Miniatures writes:

I did my traditional basing on these models, using corn meal, Elmer's Glue, Games Workshop static grass, and some paint. First, I put a layer of glue down on the base, covering everything. (Make sure the glue is kind of thick, to make the corn meal stick better.) Then I took a jar/box of cornmeal, dipped the base of the mini into it, and shook off the excess. Let dry for at least a half an hour. I let it dry for about 2 hours, actually, for best results.

Then I coated the corn meal with the RPP Volcano Brown 18025. I let it dry.

Then I did a coat of the RPP Flesh Shade Ink 18205.

Once that was dry, I put a few dots of Elmer's down, and sprinkled the static grass over it. I turned the mini upside down, tapped it, shook it to remove the excess, and let it dry. Once everything was dry the next day, I painted the remaining parts of the base in RPP Dragon Black 18042.
