Painting the Gems, and Basing

For the gems, I started with a black coat. For green stone, I use GW Dark Angel green and for red stone, I used GW Scab Red.

Highlighting green stone: Highlight with GW Snot Green - followed with GW Bilious Green and a dab of Vallejo Ivory for final highlight.

Highlighting red stone: Highlight with GW Blood Red - followed with GW Fiery Orange and a dab of Vallejo Ivory for final highlight.

The finished gems

I basecoated the base with Vallejo Burnt Umber and then lightly drybrushed a mix of Vallejo Light Brown and Iraqui Sand. Then I painted the skull with Iraqui Sand, followed with Ivory. For the final touch, I glued on Woodland Scenic Burnt Grass for static grass, drybrushed with Ivory.

The final base

I also added a simple tattoo on her right leg – using a blue wash.

I skipped some Work-in-Progress shots because I was rushing to meet the deadline and I'm afraid that this article has become too long [grin]. I hope I've covered all the major things when painting her, and hopefully this Workbench article can be useful for my fellow painters.
