Holger Schmidt Fezian of Fantasy Miniatures writes:

When Bill (Editor in Chief Bill) asked me to do a Workbench article for his great web-magazine The Miniatures Page, especially about a Hasslefree miniature, I was immediately hooked! So I started to work on the miniature right after I received it, although I had several other projects for the upcoming Golden Demons (in Germany and the U.K.) on my workbench.

Components

Powered-Armour Libby first needs to be assembled. I also used some greenstuff for the base, to build tiles.

Assembled

After that, I primed the miniature with a black undercoat.

Primed
I usually use white undercoat for most of my showcase miniatures, but because I wanted to use real metallic colours for the Libby, I decided for black. Metallics always look best on a black undercoat!

I use plain black spray cans (bought in building supply stores) for priming my miniatures.
