If there was a way to create smaller boxes…

Same company makes a smaller cabinet (about half the size) – 3 large drawers and 10 small drawers.

Well, well, well... I actually finished this project very quickly, even though it's taken me over a year to finish the write-up!

The Package Arrives

The box from Litko

One day, the much desired box from Litko arrived. Inside, there are several bags...

Bag of magnetic bases

...each filled with cut rectangles of magnetic material.

Magnetic bases

The basic idea is that the white paper on the back peels off, revealing the adhesive side.

Peeling off the paper

The ten small drawers are the easiest - just peel the back off the small rectangles, line the long edge along the side of the drawer, drop the whole thing in place, then smooth it into place with your fingertips (pushing out any bubbles).

Small drawer with magnetic bottom in place

Then, I can take my Light Tanks, which are mounted on steel bases...

...and securely store them away, where I know they won't be sliding around and chipping the paint off each other.
