28prt-4 Color Scheme:

Golden skin, and shades of blue used for the clothes

Pirate in progress
Pirate in progress

Skin:

Basecoat is RMS Golden Shadow 09091
Highlight 1 is RMS Golden Shadow + RMS Golden Skin 09092
Highlight 2 is RMS Golden Skin + RMS Golden Highlight 09093
Highlight 3 is RMS Golden Highlight
Highlight 4 is RMS Golden Highlight + RMS Pure White 09039

Jacket:

I changed the color for the jacket part of the way through. My initial plan was to make it a navy blue, but I thought it would look better as a light blue. The following recipes are for the end result of the blue coat.

Basecoat is 2 parts RPP Ice Blue 08015 + 1 part RPP Sapphire Blue Ink 08203

For the 3 sets of highlights, you just add one drop of RMS Pure White until you are almost at Pure White. The trim is in the same color as her top and paints.

Top and Pants:

Basecoat is RPP Bright Blue 18069
Highlight 1 is RPP Bright Blue + 1 drop of RMS Pure White
Highlight 2 is RPP Bright Blue + 2 drops of RMS Pure White
Highlight 3 is RPP Bright Blue + 3 drops of RMS Pure White
Highlight 4 is just a little touch of RMS Pure White in certain places.

Hair:

Basecoat is RMS Muddy Brown 09028 (great color! I love it!)

Curly hair

Highlight 1 is RMS Muddy Brown + RPP Desert Gold 08005
Highlight 2 is RMS Muddy Brown + 2 parts RPP Desert Gold
Highlight 3 is RPP Desert Gold
Highlight 4 is RPP Desert Gold + RMS Pure White
Highlight 5 is RMS Pure White

I did not apply any washes to the hair; because of the curly texture, I was able to highlight the curls individually without losing any of the dark shadow areas.

Shoes:

Basecoat is RPP Walnut 08023
Highlight 1 is RPP Walnut + RMS Leather White 09062
Highlight 2 is RPP Walnut + 2 parts RMS Leather White
Highlight 3 is RPP Walnut + 3 parts RMS Leather White
Highlight 4 is RMS Leather White in very small, tight highlights.

* This is the same recipe used for the shoes and scabbard on 28prt-12

Hat and Belt:

Basecoat is 1 part RPP Walnut + 2 parts RMS Oiled Leather 09110
Highlight 1 is 1 part RPP Walnut + 3 parts RMS Oiled Leather
For each highlight after, add one drop of RMS Leather White, until you are highlighting with just the Leather White.

I used a nice shade of deep rose for her lips, and highlighted with some white. Her eyes I lined with RPP Walnut, then used Pure White for the whites of the eyes. I also added bright blue paint for her iris. I also used RPP to line all of the minis.

Basing:

I painted the rocks that were part of the sculpt, before I added a layer of Crayola White Glue, then dipped the base in a container of cornmeal. Once it was dry, I painted it with RPP Ruddy Flesh 08031, highlighted with RPP Desert Gold - and the last highlight was with RPP Spring Yellow 08006. I then took some epoxy sculpt and made a little sand dollar to add to the base. I was trying to go for a beachy feel using materials I had at home. I enjoy the way they turned out; however, pumice paste should be used to create a sand-like base.
