Part 4, the Oil Wash:

I used some raw umber oil paint - thinned down with some odorless mineral spirits - to wash the whole miniature. Don't be afraid to use too much paint, because you can always wipe off the excess.

That leads me to what I did next... I waited a couple of hours, and then wiped off quite a bit of the oil paint using cotton swabs. It really gives the miniature a pretty gritty, well-worn look.

Think of the oil wash as being a step up from the Dip Method.
