Or, Not done until the ink is dry!
Now that I've gotten the markings on the aircraft, it's time to bring out the details of the aircraft. First, I've painted up the glazed parts with a handy Reaper Glacier Blue - but nearly any light blue or white paint would work for what I plan. I then sealed the aircraft with another gloss coat. Machineguns were marked black, as are the turbo chargers on the wings and de-icing boots along the leading edges of the control surfaces, using a Sharpie permanent marker. I used Pelikan black ink, which flows nicely across the gloss finish, and brings out the engraved details such as flaps, etc.

The final touch before the dull coat is a little weathering (or suggestion of weathering) using Tamiya Weathering Powders. Somewhere between mascara and artists' pastels, they adhere to the painted surface, but excess can easily be removed with a brush. I add the soot from the engines using a different package of the same product.
