I could have sworn we already ran that article… but you're right, I don't see it. Yes, the figures came back long, long ago.

Before shipping the figures off to Vancouver/Thailand, I decided to stick them before the camera and get a few pre-painting shots.

The unopened set

As has been my habit, I did some light prep work and glued the figures down to metal disks (which I find convenient for storage and transportation purposes).

The figures have been mounted

The NKVD Command set comprises 8 figures:

  • 4 leaders
  • 2 standard bearers
  • 2 radiomen
The pole men (2 identical figures)

The mix and poses are reminiscent of the Command Summer Dress pack that we previously profiled, but differ in terms of equipment and faces.

The radiomen (2 identical figures)

All of the NKVD figures are wearing brimmed caps, for instance, and none of them are carrying blanket rolls...

Leader

All of the NKVD figures look suitably brave, which I'm sure will make Mother Russia proud...

Two identical leader figures

The castings are clean, with almost no imperfections (there's a very slight mold mismatch on one of the arms, but not enough that I think anyone will ever notice).

There's a slight mismatch on the lower sleeve - can you spot it?
