Minidragon Fezian writes:

With the lining complete, I began painting on the running lights (or porthole lights, or whatever they are). I place them randomly all over the ship in short rows.

These are very easy. For this ship, I decided that I'd paint yellow lights. I use a two-tone process for the lights. Step one is painting a large dot of a dark color that represents some glow from the light.

Step two for the lights is simply painting a smaller dot of some bright color (in this case, a pale yellow) inside the large dot.

I always ensure some of the base dot is showing to give the cool glowing effect - I think it really looks nice!

A note on the lights: I tend to keep them away from the engines; I figure no-one wants to live near all that radiation.
