DJD Miniatures Fezian writes:

Hi Combatpainter, I'm not familiar with the wet gauze technique. Do you mean a plaster mixed with gauze, sort of like a cast for a broken leg? I've tried regular plaster mixed with gauze before and not been happy with the strength of the final piece. Although using dental plaster with gauze should up the strength considerably.
All-in-all I'm happy with the multi step approach we used for this piece as it gives a lot of chances to adjust and sculpt the terrain.

As I promised, here is the second miniatures set which DJD Miniatures painted for TMP - same minis as before, but without the diorama.

As DJD Miniatures Fezian explains, the second set is painted slightly differently:

The non-display-base Cavemen are a bit higher-contrast painting style, and the non-display-base Armadillo is more brownish. Did that to give you some variety when you use these figures in your games.

This was a fun set to work on. Hope you like them!

The figures arrived without added bases - the resin Glyptodon has terrain molded into the model, and the Homo Erecti (sp?) have large cast-on rectangular bases. However, for storage purposes, I decided to mount all of them on steel bases (for storage on magnet-lined shelves).
