Sometimes, bad things happen to good miniatures

In this case, despite the figure being swaddled in tissue paper and immersed in packing peanuts, the Centurion got a bit bent in shipping. (I think a customs inspector might have picked him up...)
The damage is confined to two points: the rod, and the helmet.

- The rod has been bent 90 degrees back, and the paint at the bend has been clearly stripped off.
- The crest of the helmet has been slightly squashed down and back, resulting in chipping and bulging of the paint all around the base of the crest.

Before I begin the "doctoring" process, what do the readers of TMP advise? How should I reposition the crooked parts? How do I fix cracked and broken paint? How do I mix colors to match a discontinued paint color?
