Right.

So here we have two lady gladiators from Bronze Age Miniatures:

Prep:

Delightfully little flashing to be removed.

The weapons were very easy to attach. Just a little bit of superglue, and bending the hands snugly around them.

I wish I had used some greenstuff here to extend the fingers. They look a bit stubby in the final products.

I left the net-wielding lass (retiarius?) attached to the base she came on. The dame with the sword and shield I pinned to a Nexus Games base.

Priming:

Ohhhhh look! Primed minis! My primer of choice is Reaper Pro-Paint White Brush-On Primer.

Painting:

"Blocking in the flesh tones"

Here I'm taking lousy photos. Oh, and blocking in the flesh tones using the Reaper Master Series flesh tones - Dark Skin with Black shadows, and Fair Skin with Dark Skin shadows.

I also started working on the net lass' linen outfit.

Linen (all Reaper Master Series):

  • Muddy Brown
  • Terran Khaki
  • Polished Bone
  • and white

Blocking in more colors.....

eyes....

Rosy Shadow for the nipples, BTW.

"Lady in blue"

Ah! Close-up of the lady in blue. She decided to be a redhead, apparently. The blues here are Derivan paints.

"Another close-up"

Another close-up, with the metallics being laid in over the same base blue used on the fabrics.

"All cleaned up"

Here she is all cleaned up.

The skin tone was highlighted with thinned Reaper Master Series Fair Highlight.
