I'd love to see pictures of these minis on the wargame table…

The plan is to use them for a game, and do a TMP battle report.

When I called for volunteers to paint some Hordes miniatures, alizardincrimson2 Fezian was quick to respond:

me!

me

me me

me!

I'd love to paint one of the female minis!

She sent frequent progress reports:

Cleaning, filing and a good amount of the pinning done.

lots of pinning

lots and lots

and I only glued myself to the table twice!

But when I asked for a write-up, she was... hesitant...

do I have to?!

I wish I'd taken notes.....

It all began with.... 20 minutes trying to get a good look at a seriously vertiginous copper lamp on the side of a building. In traffic. Just a note: Standing on hood of police car = bad idea. But I did finally get a good look at the light...

Er...

Let me see if I can come up with something.....

So what we did was a question-and-answer format, with alizardincrimson2 Fezian promising to stand by to answer any questions you may have...

What did you think of the figures when you first saw them?

Nut Bunnies! I need to find the Dremel. Lots of pieces. Not much flashing.

Not too keen on the big guy's pose. Nothing that a bit of epoxy couldn't fix up.

How did you pick a paint scheme?

I kept seeing pics of these guys with stone-looking armor. So I couldn't do that.

The Everblight are from the "Top of the World." Sounds Himalayan. So I needed snow... hmmmmm. And no stone. And something old-looking.

Metal. Rusty metal? Nah...

Ha!

Verdigrised copper! Off I went to an old church near by that has the most excellent example of weathered copper I've ever seen.

The "white" skin of the beasts is tinted purple.

The lady is wearing the skins and metals from the beasties themselves.

What paints did you use?

Reaper Master Series, Derivan, Vallejo.

How did you base them?

I tried out my new Hudson & Allen Snow and a few rocks.

How do you like the final results?

Very, very pleased with the little beasts.

Happy with the lady. But her eyes were covered. I like painting eyes! grin

And I was pleased with the big guy until his arm fell off.*

The "snow"... I'm not sure yet...

I'm just glad to have a chance to paint minis that I can't afford to buy!

* The big guy's arm came off in shipping despite being pinned, but was easily put back on. I did some touch-up where the paint chipped, but it was all in hard-to-see places (armpit, inside of claws).
