First the model was cleaned up, the mold lines cleared away and any flash removed. Any air bubbles, are filled with a mixture of talcum powder and superglue. Once the filler mixture has hardened, it is sanded down flush with the existing surface.

When preparations are complete, the model is scrubbed with dishwashing liquid to remove any mold release and dust from the sanding, before being mounted on a flying stand.

The model is then given two coats of the Halfords grey primer and left to dry overnight.
