Nice.

I see you've done two command groups, the left hand side in the green caps are NKVD Border Guards and the ones in the red and blue caps are Security NKVD. Both are correct and usable on the table. I'll give you a pass on the flags, the 5 meter grenade rules in effect.

The Border Guards took part in gound combat in company, battalion, and regimental units. Security detachments, the much vaunted machine gun blocking detatchments included, also took on front line duties during the war.

Very nice. Well done.

Dave at DJD Miniatures writes:

Next step is sealing with the figures with two coats of acrylic matt sealer.

We then do the flocking – for this crew, dirt and mud-covered ground seemed best, so that is what they received. We used some epoxy to blend in the seam between the base and the figure's base, then while the epoxy was still sticky, we implanted the straw grass. We waited for that to dry overnight, then superglued the straw to the dry epoxy.

Then we coated the base with a thick coat of white PVA glue, mixed with a few drops of brown paint. The brown paint adds color depth, if any flocking gets knocked off the top.

Coat the base with dirt and some small pebbles, add a few clumps of regular flock, and the figures are set!
