Final Touches

The Pilot and fittings were now detailed, using lighter shades brushed on, or dry brushed for areas like the beard. Rigging got a drybrush of Humbrol, which lifted the rope detail out nicely. The woodwork was also drybrushed with Humbrol.

Once dry, it was the big moment for assembly. The fit of the wings and fuselage was perfect - you would never know there had been a gap.

The last touch was a very faint drybrush with some white and a pale sand shade, mostly about the pilot, but also around some metal and other fittings just to lift some detail that was hiding, like the bolt heads in the wing top.

And that was it, all finished. Thus complete, I took these pics in a rush and posted the model back to Bill (before I checked the pics, sadly).

Another view over the battlefield

Head-on view of the glider -a dangerous position to be in!

My opinion is that this is a lovely little model, with a high level of detail and well designed. The only minus was those casting lines and that joining gap which were easily overcome.
