Ira tells me he has enjoyed painting the Gorla so far.
These units throwing spears appear especially "peeved" at someone!
One of the "guards" has been complaining of chafing from his armor... gorillas being somewhat used to less confining attire...
Ira wisely left the javelins separate, rather than gluing them down and risking breakage in shipping - I've glued them on for these photos.
I moved my studio the last quarter of 2005 and... have been much of the past year bed-ridden with a heart condition.
My [heart condition] surfaced in the spring of '99 and the thing I miss the most is the vitality, strength that preceded the condition. As with all of us... this just worsens.
One never knows from one day to the next what will surface...
Ira tells me that he wants to finish the remaining dozen Gorla...
I don't want to go down as 'one of those' painters who's absconded with your sample pieces and has refused to return them...
I would be happy to paint these remaining...in due time, as my health allows.
However, I think it might be time for the rest of us TMP'ers to pitch in and help Ira out with the dozen or so Gorla still to come. If you'd like to volunteer to paint a Gorla or two, you can contact Ira through Bwana Art Studio.
