OK, that was the body mostly done. Time to get the arms done. I finished up the panel lines, then moved onto the hands. These followed the example I'd seen in many a Hobby Japan. I painted them Charcoal, then did a wash of Raw Umber. I then cleaned up with Charcoal, and highlighted that with Codex Grey. I then picked out the bolts on the thumb and on the sides of the arm with Boltgun Metal. Then I added some more red triangle points to them.

Painting the hands

I painted the gun bodies the same way as the hand, with the brown-shaded dark grey. I picked out details and the barrels in Boltgun Metal, then washed them with the Raw Umber and black wash I'd done earlier. I went over the wash again to make the ends of the barrels nice and burnt-looking. I then painted the targeter-looking things on the front like red gems, using Holly Red and white ink, with a white spot on top. I then added some indicator lights along the back of the guns with red and bright green, in the series of 4 holes that run along one side of the back of the gun.

At this point, I glued the arms into position (as well as the head), and looked what else needed adding.
