Ana of Chest of Colors writes:

Ah, so what am I going to show you today?

In the evening, I managed to paint the face.

I chose Flat Earth (VMC 983) for my base color, and I started shading the face with Blue (VGC 18).

Palette

I applied it by glazing - six times, I think.

Then I thinned down the base color, and made the transitions a bit smoother:

When the skin was smoothly shaded, it was time for highlighting. I started by adding Elf Skintone (VGC 2004) to the base color, and ended with thinned-down Elf Skintone.

And some details had to be done:

Teeth were painted with Ivory (VMC 918), and I gave him one bad tooth. It might be because of my frustration with the dental work I have to suffer. grin The effect was achieved by adding Oxford Blue (VMC 807). The spot on the tooth was made with Smoke – I applied a drop of this paint, and after 10 seconds I removed it with my finger. A brownish border was left on the tooth.

The blue eyes were painted with Oxford Blue, as well. grin Reddish skin under his eyes matched the ribbons. This was achieved with glazes of Red (VMC 926).

The hair was painted with a 0/5 brush and black ink. The brush is easier to control when the paint doesn't dry on the bristles...
