I painted the trenchcoat using my new GW colours. Though I'm still not convinced by their pots, they have some really nice brown tones. Since I wasn't sure of the final result, I started with the lower part of the coat. For the base, I used a 50/50 mix of black and Bestial Brown. I highlighted it by adding more and more Bestial Brown, then Snakebite Leather, and I finished with Snakebite Leather plus Bleached Bone.

The test part of the trenchcoat is painted

Satisfied with the result, I painted the other parts of the coat the same way.

The back of the trenchcoat

The front of the trenchcoat

Now the inside of the coat. I found the area between the legs really tricky: lights and shadows are always difficult to paint on such smooth surfaces! The basecoat is a mix of Snakebite Leather with a touch of black and a little Bubonic Brown. For the shadows, I used a mix of black and Snakebite Leather - and for the highlights, I added Bubonic Brown to the base, then Bleached Bone.

The final trenchcoat (rear)

And these were the last pictures taken with my camera (Samsung Digimax 340, don't buy it!). The remaining pictures were taken by a member of the Francophone mailing-list once the painting was finished (thank you, Maethor!).
