I like to paint faces and exposed flesh first - I believe it makes painting easier when you can see a miniature's face. The base flesh colour is GW Snakebite Leather, highlighted with Snakebite Leather and Skull White. Once this was dry, I washed the areas with GW Flesh Wash (the old version with the blue top), and later touched up the black areas.

Building from the base up, the next thing I painted was the trousers, various light grey, pale blue and linen colours. Please note: I did not worry about painting the bare feet at this point, but waited until the bases were painted.

The red jackets were painted Vallejo Game Color Bloody Red, with just a touch of green, then a second coat of Bloody Red. I did not highlight up from the Bloody Red. Once again, I touched up the black areas.
