Wargames Supply Dump's Khang Robot with Legs
Some time ago, I modelled and painted the 'sister' robot DG09 Khang Robot with Tracked Legs for use with my 40mm Flash Gordon collection. At 46mm tall, it fitted in perfectly with my Graven Images/Cliffhanger 40mm Flash Gordon figures.
Then in July of this year, I read a post by Editor in Chief Bill asking for a volunteer to write a Workbench article about another WSD miniature. I am afraid that I was still getting to grips with the new Workbenchers forum, and was a little too slow to grab this project! I did, however, have the DG08 Khang Robot with Legs in my 'to-do' project box (the one I keep hidden from my wife, in case she realizes how many bare-metal figures I really have).
Here is my workbench article on this miniature:
Introduction
The miniature is packed in a clear zip-close wallet with a card header. Of note is the fact that the miniature is sculpted by one of my all-time favourite sculptors - Bob Olley.
The miniature comes as a multi-part, multi-pose miniature; the base and legs, the main torso, head, and two octopus-like arms.
With the exception of the two arms, the miniature required very little 'cleaning-up' - just some mould lines that were scraped with a scalpel. The arms needed some care and attention to remove mould lines, but apart from taking a little time and being fiddly, the clean-up went well.
In general, the miniature was very well cast.
