I've created many trees using this same basic technique. Using different parent material (i.e. different fake plants), you can create a diverse and varied landscape for your game table. The following images show how these trees 'dress up' my game table, resulting in not just an attractive table, but a more challenging battlefield.

Big Trees on the Battlefield

A different game, this time using the big trees. The Mobile Infantry troopers are pinned against the large trees - which are too large to jump over - and must stand and fight the approaching bugs. Both sides are slowed by the trees, and the line of sight is severely reduced.
