First I glued some reasonable-sized chunks of slate to the base, followed by sand.

Then it all gets a coat of neat brown ink.

When the ink is dry, the sand gets a drybrush of Bestial Brown, then Vomit Brown, and finally Bleached Bone. The chunks of slate are painted Chaos Black, then highlighted with Graveyard Earth, then Bleached Bone.
To finish, I sprayed the model in 'Ardcoat Gloss Varnish, then a couple of coats of Testors Dullcote to take off the shine.
This miniature, I have to say, turned out better than expected. Although it also took way longer than I bargained for. Editor in Chief Bill got a good deal with this one!

To get yourself a Bugharoth painted by me would cost £45.00 GBP in Brit money. Make sure you go to pro-painted-miniatures.com to check out some of my other stuff!
