Thanks for having me in the LPS2 contest. I can honestly say it was one of the most stimulating and challenging painting events I have ever participated in.
If there was anything I would have changed, it would have been to somehow pick up the pace while keeping to themes that the audience was most interested in. Granted, the pace was brutal enough that we lost a lot of competitors, so this probably wouldn't have been practical. But one can always dream.
Congrats to Ray (Adrian Gideon) for winning. Even though I had picked you as the odds-on favorite when the 10 finalists were announced, I thought I had you there in the final round.
Thanks to Bill and TMP for hosting the contest and arranging for prizes. Thanks to all the artists who participated in the first phase; it's great to see over 100 people interested in something like this. Thanks to all the other Finalists; your hard work made this contest interesting. And finally, thanks to the fans for watching the show and providing useful feedback so we can all improve our techniques - because that's what it's really all about.
Finally, I'd also like to make a plug for IWM and Classic BattleTech in general. The product line has been re-launched with Total Warfare, the new core rulebook. It's full-color, and features tons of pictures of finely painted IWM minis, including some by a handful of the LPS2 finalists. If you're a minis gamer, please check it out!
