She arrived with a newfangled round-slotted base and a little insert of wood planking.

Huh?

She has a tab...... and the insert doesn't have a slot. And her skirt covers most of the base.

(I didn't use the insert.)

A nice mini with very little flashing.

Primed

Here she is, primed with my favorite Reaper Pro Paints brush-on primer.

But there was a problem from the beginning.....

Galen

It's name is Galen, and it was pretty sure the Vampire Queen was edible. He went after her every time I left the table!

All the paints used were Reaper Master Series paints. I kept changing my mind about the colors. First, I had Deep Amethyst and Indigo Sky blended to black with a linen skirt.

Then I was distracted by the pretty blank cloak, and this happened....

Surprise!

This is a familiar motif in my watercolors. However! Acrylics (my mini paints) and watercolors are applied bass-akward from each other.

From there, I added a Bloodstain Red edging to the dress.

Red edging added

And then I changed my mind!

Changes

The red edging has been replaced with black, the linen skirt with Bloodstain Red, and the dress and headdress have acquired a highlight of Antique Rose.

Laying in the metallics:

Metallics

Shadowed Steel and just a touch of Polished Steel on the black edging. Ancient Bronze on some of the details.

Detail attack!

Details

The fan tips got the same black-and-steel treatment as the edging. The fan proper is now Bloodstain Red with black outlining, and highlighted with Fire Red and a little Bright Coral.

Lips are the same color.

The eyes are Indigo Sky and Deep Amethyst (but you can't see them).

Gems! Bloodstain Red, Fire Red, Bright Coral, black and white.

A little bit of Polished Gold and some Indigo Sky eyeshadow....

And the flesh? Fair Highlight, white, and a very thin Pale Indigo for shading.
