The loincloth was based with Lichen Grey, Hippo Grey, and Magic Wash (3:1:1) (Photo 5A). Two layers of shadow were dropped in (ratios of 2:2:3 and 2:4:4) (Photo 5B). To bring the loincloth back to looking like white cloth, four layers of highlight were added. In Photo 5C, the first two highlights of Lichen Grey:MW (1:1) and Lichen Grey:White:MW (3:1:4) can be seen. The last two highlights of Lichen Grey:White:MW (1:3:12) and White:MW (1:3) are in Photo 5D.
The belt was given an initial coat of Candy Bar Brown. Tones were built up from there using Candy Bar with AC Flesh (3:1:4MW). A light drybrush of AC Flesh with White (1:1) was put on the very edges of the belt to show some leather wear (Photo 6B). The brass was based with Brass and Renaissance Ink Brown Ink (1:1). Highlights were the same colors, but in ratios of 3:1:1MW and 3:0:1MW. A final highlight adds silver to the mix for a Brass:Silver ratio of 4:1:1MW. This is the same combination used on the manica strap studs, the sword hilt, and the greave on the left leg.
Speaking of the manica...
The straps are based in Mocha. Thin layers of Mocha with Trail Tan (3:1:4MW and 3:2:5MW) (Photo 7B) created the highlights. RI Brown Ink was washed (1:3MW) around the studs and the strap shadows. Several layers were used in area of heavy shadow, only one or two in the areas of light shadow (Photo 7C). The studs were then painted using the brass mixes used on the belt (Photos 7D and 7E).
Padding in the manica and the greave were ratios of Rain Grey and White (1:0:1MW, 3:1:4MW, 2:2:6MW, 2:3:7MW, 2:5:10MW, and a final highlight of 0:1:2MW). The padding pictures were pretty dull, so why waste the bandwidth?
