unknown member was kind enough to allow me to paint this wonderful Hasslefree mini.
I've seen her painted as a blond, brunette, pale, tanned, in a see-through top and many other ways. But I've never seen her as a Drow.
So here we go...
First, I blocked in the skin with RMS (Reaper Master Series) Dark Elf, the outfit in RMS Violet Red, and the hair with RMS Indigo Sky.
As usual, I don't have a pic of this stage. Nut bunnies!
In this pic, I've added a quick drybrush of RMS Pale Violet to the garments.
The hair is pretty much done already. The Indigo Sky was drybrushed with Derivan Midway Blue and then with white. I picked out a few highlights with a stronger coat of white.
While I had that on my pallet, I gave her eyebrows.
For the rest of the face, I used Indigo Sky for the irises, black for the eyeliner and pupil, a bit of white to finish up the eyes, and RMS Burgundy Wine and Violet Red for both the eyeshadow and lipstick.
Here I started on the details and shading.
I used RMS Burgundy Wine to add some shading to the fabric.
Vallejo Game Color Tinny Tin and RMS Ancient Bronze are used on the belt and lacing of the top.
The leather, shoes, and a pouch on the belt use RMS Muddy Brown and Leather Brown, with thinned black to outline.
I started the shading and highlighting of the skin using the RMS Dark Elf Triad, extended with black in the deeper areas.
Here I've painted the base (cast resin - Black Cat Bases, I think) with black, RMS Indigo Sky, and a touch of RMS Pale Violet. Looks a bit odd, but works for an alley in the underdark. Some black and purple static grass would have been great. But I don't have any.
At this point I thought I was done....
