Mechwarrior Fred Conner had waited all this life for this day. He was finally getting his shot in the Davion Holo arena on Solaris 7. He had won the draw, and got to choose the setting for the upcoming round of the Light Fight Competition.
Thinking hard, Fred had come up with what he thought was something different and exciting - he chose to have the holo projectors project the inside of a targeting computer. Having come up with his chosen battlefield, Fred then set to the task of creating the right camo pattern to match the arena of choice....
Welcome to Round Three of the great contest sponsored by The Miniatures Page and Iron Wind Metals. I am proud to have made it this far, and look forward to the final rounds of this contest. From here on out, it gets to be a real challenge to come up with some new ideas and new ways of doing creative things.
So with the theme for this round being Tron, I looked to my selection of remaining mechs. The Eagle was the most Tron-looking mech I had left in my selection. Here is the original drawing of the Eagle:
The one on the IWM site is assembled incorrectly - the arms are on backwards, so the mech is running away with its arms pointing behind it.
All right, here is what I'm gonna start with. Now, there are going to be some missing pics and fuzzy shots due to a major computer crash, and a shoulder injury making me have to rush the mini completion. Funny how this contest really seems to turn up the pressure....
All right, starting parts...
- Legs
- Arms
- Torso
- Brass Tubing
- Hex-Base
- Screen from defunct cell phone
- Circuit board from same cell phone, cut to a hex slightly larger than the hex-base
