Primed

Everything back from the primer shed. I used Wal-Mart grey primer.

Basecoated

A coat of Reaper Tanned Skin for the deck. I figure the corsair spent more time in port than out, so her sails would not have been as dingy as the cutter. I started with a coat of Reaper Linen White.

Yards painted, details added

The gun carriages have been picked out in Delta Ceramcoat Brown, and the deck features in Delta Ceramcoat Charcoal. The same brown was used on the yards on all the masts.

Exterior hull painted

The hull got an exterior coat of Reaper Tanned Skin Shadow for the upper part, and Delta Ceramcoat Brown for the lower part, counter, beakhead and bowsprit.

Sails and exterior hull detailed

On the hull, the gunports, channels and strakes were picked out with Delta Ceramcoat Black. The same black was used to brushcoat the lines and reef points on the sails.

Final painting

Final painting on the hull (prior to touch-up). The bulwark tops and boat booms got Delta Ceramcoat Mudstone, and Delta Ceramcoat Straw was used to create some scrolling on the beakhead. Black was used to stripe the gun carriages to give the impression of gun barrels.
