I did a project for Bill and a 'diary' for the TMP Workbench a couple years ago - it was a Games Workshop 40K Necron Monolith that I painted up in a color-shifting paint scheme, then I auctioned off a second "sister model" Monolith (painted up the same way) on eBay as a fundraiser for TMP. Bill then contacted me, asking if I would consider doing another project - some Victorian Sci-Fi machinery provided by The London War Room:
- Ironclad Gunboat
- Cloud Cutter
- MK VIII Leviathan Class Steam Battle Strider (to be featured in a future Workbench article...)

Both skyships consist of resin and metal pieces. The Ironclad has seven resin pieces and two metal propellers. The Cloud Cutter has two resin pieces and one metal rudder, Weaponry is an after-market add-on (available through The London War Room), so gamers can outfit their skyships with whatever weapons they feel are appropriate.
After the initial inventory, the cleaning and prep-work started. All the resin pieces were washed down with a soft-bristled toothbrush and mild dishsoap; and again later with Simple Green. Gaps created by air bubbles in the casting process were filled using greenstuff.

- 1 x 12-inch, 1/16 diameter brass rod and 1 x 36-inch, 3/32 diameter brass tubing (available at HobbyTown USA)
- Brasso metal polish
About the Pictures
A computer foul-up caused many early photos of the skyships to be lost forever. Gone are the "inventory pics," the "after-greenstuff pics," and the "after primer-before basecoat pics." So we have to start with some pics of already half-completed models…
