Scissors are useful, inexpensive and portable.

Mini-trees that are cheaper and don't shed!

I finished the bases off with some Woodland Scenics clump foliage to add a bit of color.

Here is a picture of the final product:

There you have it, good-looking forest bases without any fancy scenery products!
