While the base was drying, I went back to the knee joints I mentioned earlier. Because of the uneven footing I just created with the base, the right leg would need a much more obtuse angle than the left (heh, I said "obtuse"... Euclid would be proud). I wanted to open up the angle on both legs somewhat, to give the 'Mech a less squat pose. Below is a before-and-after shot of the right leg. Note the green putty used to fill in and help hold the new joint.
Next, I assembled the base, legs, and lower torso. I included this low-angle shot to give you a good sense of what I've done with the legs. The 'Mech is stabilized with its left foot on a rocky outcropping, ready to fire.
I assembled the upper torso with a bit of a twist, and the guns elevated to intercept an airborne target. I like this shot because it shows why I chose this mini for the dazzle scheme: the figure is geometrically irregular and strange, yet it contains several smooth arcs and polygons. Perfect for adding confusion!
