I like the figures. Uniforms colors??? |

Green, apparently. Tad bit bright for my taste, but to each his own. Otherwise excellent work, however. |

Here is the art that I provided them as a reference (scanned from Hour of Glory): TMP link (BMP format) |

That's called "feldgrau". It could have a great degree of variation in color: link picture It did not have *this* much variation in color: picture I guess I'm going to have to find some Day-Glo paint and redo those British infantry for Bill, or else he's going to be horribly disappointed

As I look at it, if they were going for the four color comic book look, they nailed it. Given the game, this would actually work. If you look at comic books from the 60's and 70's, German uniforms came in colors ranging from black to purple to bright green. I also want to point out that, other than the choice of color, the work is really quite good. |

The colour does indeed remind me of 'Warlord' and 'Victor' comics
Perfect for the game! |

You also have to think about, that if Bill sent the color reference to them in electronic form, the differences between his monitor and the painter's monitor can have a huge effect on the final product. What appears to me as a fairly gray color could very well look much greener on the painter's monitor. It's for that reason alone sending color references with the miniatures is a better idea. On my monitor that reference isn't nearly as green as the final product. In the reference the only one that really has a definite green look is the one standing at attention from the rear. The other three look more like what would be close to feldgrau. |

I sent the reference in printed form. |

And that should have shown, to anyone with half a clue, that the uniforms are feldgrau, both tunic--with the dark green collars (which the painters did *not* distinguish)--and trousers, as are the helmets. You sent them a reasonable artist's interpretation of historical uniforms as guidance, and you got back something out of a Will Ferrell movie. And I guess you like it, so that's OK. OK, I've found some Day-Glo orange for the 24th foot's facings. I need to find some kind of silver glitter to add to their helmets, though

And I guess you like it, so that's OK. In the Showcase, I generally just show the pictures and let everyone come to their own opinions. |

You fools, those aren't Germans, they're Scousers. You can tell by the shiny turquoise shellsuits they're wearing. |

I don't think they are too bad. A tad bit on the blue-green side perhaps, but I've seen worse. They will definitely work for the game. |
