I hate to let anything go to waste, even if they are old and broken figures. Previously, I showed you some boar-riding Half-Orcs with broken spears that I converted into javelin-armed Half-Orcs.
I found that I had three more broken Half-Orc riders and boars. I'm pretty sure these are Jacobite Half-Orcs with Swords riding boars, but the blades were broken off. Fernando Enterprises gamely painted them for TMP, probably thinking I was crazy to have them paint broken figures!
When the figures came back, I mounted the boars on a 2" by 2" Mighty Armies plastic base (Rebel Minis) and came up with a plan: I would drill out the hands, glue paperclip-wire shafts in place, and 3Dprint some kind of warhammer to go on top.
Then my 3Dprinter broke (I think it needs a new heating element), so I came up with Plan B:
The 'hammer' is just a piece of twist-tie (the kind that comes with your loaf of bread), folded around the shaft to round it out, filled in with superglue, painted metallic.
It's kind of rough, but has a certain style to it, don't you think?
This gives the Half-Orcs a useful anti-knights unit, and salvages more broken figures!
I love the faces on these Half-Orcs!
This should have been the last unit in my Half-Orc army project, but – surprise! – there's one more unit to come…
