Anyone remember Mage Knight? It was a fantasy game that came out in 2000, using collectible, pre-painted plastic figures.

Screeching Terrors

What you might not know is that some of those figures were also released in metal. That figure range is available currently from Ral Partha Europe.

Screeching Terrors

These particular figures are Screeching Terrors. They're about 26mm from bottom of foot to top of ear, or 40mm from claw to claw. The wings are separate pieces.

Screeching Terrors

Rather confusingly, there is a Mage Knight: Rebellion figure also known as a Screeching Terror, but that one is a much heavier, squatting model, and was not available in metal.

Screeching Terror

When I sent these figures off to Old Guard Painters, my instructions were basic:

Body is dark green; wings are dark gray; eyes are red; teeth are white.
Screeching Terror

When the figures came back, I mounted them into round slottabases.

I would have liked to use these as dungeon monsters, but I find figures with stretched wings are impractical in standard dungeon corridors; therefore, I flocked the bases for use in outdoor battles.

LITKO sells FlexSteel disks to fit these bases. I wrote a brief ID on each, peeled off the backing paper, and pressed the self-adhesive plastic onto the bottoms of the figures (for storage purposes).

Screeching Terror

I think these will be fun 'wilderness encounter monsters' in a fantasy campaign. Would I be correct in assuming some kind of 'screeching' attack?
