I'm continuing to base up the 1:72nd Russian WWII infantry. As you may remember, these were painted for us by our friends in Sri Lanka, Fernando Enterprises, based on the box illustrations.

The boxed set provides two mortar men. Apparently the intent is to flesh out the team with regular infantry figures.

The figure is loading one bomb into the mortar, while carrying a second bomb in his other hand. The mortar includes a baseplate. (Looks like I got a little flock on the mortar stand!)

I suppose this model could be used to represent any Soviet mortar with similar legs and a round baseplate (82mm BM-37, 82mm PM-41, 107mm PM-38, or even the 120mm PM-43).
