This is the second unit in my new fantasy human army, following up on the Noble Pikemen previously featured.

Mounted Knights of the Order

I've chosen to base these at three knights per stand, with the exception of the command stand, which has two knights.

That means I have enough figures for six bases of regular knights, which I've based on Mighty Armies large plastic bases (available from Rebel Minis). There are two rider types, and two horse types.

The DemonWorld game has become somewhat obscure, but the extensive range remains available, now manufactured by Ral Partha Europe.

With DemonWorld, I often decide to stick with the color scheme shown on the product packaging. (Which seems to be different from the current catalog photo.)

These figures were painted for us by our good friends in Sri Lanka, Fernando Enterprises. And no, those aren't decals – the shields were painted by hand!

This pack also includes a leader and a standardbearer. (The manufacturer also sells the figures separately, as well as in smaller packs.)

The flag was hand-painted.

While the painting service does offer to base the figures, I enjoy basing themselves myself. So I attached the horses to the bases, contoured with spackle, painted and flocked the base, and then added the riders. Everything was sealed with a spray of matte clear.

I like to color-code my armies to help newbies remember which figures belong to which armies. I chose silver for the edges of these bases, emphasizing the steel of the Empire.
