I can always use more roads, so I decided to take a look at Battlefront's road expansion set:
Once again, after you open the shrinkwrap, after you slide off the cardboard packaging, after you take off the top piece of foam packing…
…you get to the road sections. The two curved 8”/20cm road sections are on top, separated by plastic packaging, apparently because they have a tendency to stick together (one of my samples was stuck to the plastic packaging!). Also in this set are straight 6"/15cm road sections, two 6"/15cm T-intersections, and one 6"/15cm crossroads.
These pieces are, of course, similar to those in the Modern Roads set we already looked at. They are darker than the box pictures indicate.
The T-intersections easily allow you to add side roads.
However, once you start adding the expansion roads, you'll find that you either have to overlap road pieces (as above) or you'll need to cut up your own smaller road sections (3" looks like it would be a good size) to cover the gaps.
Here, for instance, I've used one of the new curve pieces and a T-intersection to make a fork in the road. However, I now need more, small road pieces to extend the road all the way to the table edge. Also, note that some of the new road sections are thicker than the other sections.
