I don't know about you, but I love scenarios because they give a focus to my collecting, painting and planning. I am happier when I can "control" my purchasing and painting to models I at least know I have a scenario for!
So I do, in fact, have some scenarios in mind for post-war French forces in the event war breaks out in Europe (in the 1980s!). Therefore, I didn't feel guilty acquiring some French armor and having our friends at Fernando Enterprises in Sri Lanka paint them up. Basing was done by me, using Litko 3mm wooden bases and FlexSteel.
ERC-90S Sagaie
The ERC-90 is a six-wheel armored recon vehicle. From what I understand, the French invested in wheeled armored vehicles because the cost was much lower, and they thought the vehicles would be as good as tracked vehicles given that France has a dense road net.
These vehicles have been used in the French Fast Deployment Force, providing some 'muscle'.
I found the above picture online, and asked the painters to match the look.
The model comprises two parts: hull and turret.
The long, thin gun barrel is delicate. It bends easily, but fortunately does not easily break!
VAB-VTT
VAB in French stands for 'armored vanguard' and VTT stands for 'troop transport.' It carries ten passengers, and has a machinegun turret.
I located the above photo online, and asked the painters to match the scheme.
The little machinegun turret is a separate part.
