While I was catching up on old projects the other day, I found several Amazons patiently waited to be based up.

So here they are!

We did a contest using this figure over a decade ago, and for some reason that I no longer recall, I ended up with extra figures. Six, to be precise.

I decided to send them off to a painting service – but how to paint them up?

That's when I remembered that I had several wonderful choices, thanks to the recent contest!

I decided I liked the way RobH did the horse…

…but I liked Swordlord's rider!

So I sent the figures off to our friends in Sri Lanka, Fernando Enterprises, sent them pictures of both figures, and told them what I wanted.

Well, that was ten years ago, and the figures have been painted and waiting all this time.

I glued the figures to 1" x 2" wooden bases from LITKO, which I had already spray-painted green.

I then contoured the base with spackle, painted the top Mississippi Mud, and flocked the bases.

When you can provide a painting service with good pictures of what you want, I find they do a good job of replicating it – in their own painting style, of course.
